Capulet Care
Creating the Motivation For Life within our Specialist Homes, caring for people living with complex mental health needs.
What We Do
Capulet Care provides central support and resource to its homes. The Capulet Care offices reside at Perton Manor where its central training offices are too.
Metavasi Care Training
Metavasi is Greek for ‘transition’ and represents the pathway of the person with dementia and their transitional support requirements. From early-onset to severe-stage and end-of-life care, Metavasi Care Training educates and enables carers to understand the world from the perspective of the person with dementia; to communicate with those who experience the world in an embodied way; to understand how the senses work independently and together; to understand and utilize therapies and models of care which maintain the existing skills and promote the citizenship of people living with dementia. Metavasi Care Training is highly evolved person-centred care, re-positioning Kitwood’s 1980’s theory of ‘personhood’ within the current academic turn of psychological and emotional approaches which empower the ‘self’ in dementia care, equipping staff to deliver individualized dementia – care from living well to dying well.
Ambassador in the Community
Since commencement of her role as Dementia Services Specialist, Caron has continued to work externally with the communities surrounding our specialist nursing homes; building partnerships with organisations such as The Alzheimer’s Society, National and local Dementia Action Alliances, LGBTQ, DEEP (Dementia Engagement and Empowerment Project), NIHR (National Institute for Health Research) and JDR (Joint Dementia Research).
From delivering dementia friends sessions which create dementia friendly schools, to supporting knowledge for those studying school based Diplomas, as well as specialist training for police officers and other public serving staff, we aim to support people to understand the complexities of living with dementia and how to support them in the community and within our wider society.
As Ambassador and company representative, Caron also supports local Councils i.e. South Staffordshire Council, with public presentations of dementia awareness; making Perton High Street and Wombourne village centre dementia friendly.
In 2020, she lead on the ‘Every School’ project for South Staffordshire, and delivered a presentation on Specialist Dementia Care for Wolverhampton Council’s ‘Gaps in LGBTQ Healthcare’ conference.
Capulet Care giving back to communities fund
The Capulet Care organisation takes a beneficent view towards social responsibilities. Wherever we work in partnership, we aim to support i.e. providing new books for local schools, donating funds which enable projects to continue such as Project Give, period poverty in the Gambia, SSAFA (Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association), The Nightingale Nursing Fund and helping families to nurse their loved ones at home.
In 2022 Gemma Gardner (Executive PA) was sponsored to undertake a 15,000ft sky dive in aid of Guide Dogs, supporting a little girl to name a Guide Dog puppy. In the same year, the fund also made a donation from the proceeds of a company event, to Blood Bikers, who transport lifesaving supplies around the country on a voluntary basis, 365 days a year.
Our staff continuously work to raise funds which are used to provide help across our communities and support individual endeavour; From supporting the Heera Foundation to making up toiletries bags for the homeless, our management and staff are committed to helping others.
